Low Carb Tortilla Wraps. 5 net carbs per tortilla ( without filling )

Going low carb unfortunately means missing on a lot of things you used to love like Tacos . But no more ! This simple recipe will put wraps back on the menu . These wraps are quite sturdy and do not require egg white to bind .Simple and easy to make you will be rewarded for the effort . The Psyllium husk and Nutritional yeast flakes can be bought at most health food stores or from Amazon .




Low Carb / Keto Tortillas


Ingredients


1- Cup almond flour.

1- Cup coconut flour.

1- Tbsp. baking soda

2-Tbsp psyllium husk

2-Tbsp. olive oil

2 Tbsp. nutritional yeast flakes

1-Tbsp apple cider vinegar.

2- Tsp kosher salt

1- Cup hot water or more as needed.



Preparation.


Combine all dry ingredients and whisk together to incorporate .


Add in the oil, vinegar and hot water. Stir till a dough forms, adding more water as necessary.


Pour out on to a flat work surface and knead till consistent and the water is fully absorbed.


Roll dough into 2 inch cylinders and set aside. If you are not using right away wrap with cling wrap and place in the fridge.


Place a cast iron or nonstick pan over high heat and lightly coat with oil or rub with a piece of bacon.


Cut a two finger width piece of dough and place between two oiled pieces of wax paper and roll out a tortilla should be 6 or 7 inches in diameter. (If you have a tortilla press use that).


Cook each tortilla about one minute on each side, till golden brown and toasted, adjust heat to keep from burning.


Dough may also be frozen and thawed for later use.
